British Airways & Cathay Pacific
British Airways has further expanded its partnership with Cathay Pacific. Thanks to the enhanced codeshare agreement, travellers now enjoy even greater flexibility and more connection options between London Heathrow and various destinations across Southeast Asia and Oceania, all within a single booking.
New Destinations
For the first time, British Airways customers can travel from Manila (Philippines) to London Heathrow via Hong Kong, with a seamless transfer onto Cathay Pacific-operated flights.
New codeshare destinations via Hong Kong include:
-
Thailand: Bangkok
-
Indonesia: Denpasar (Bali) and Jakarta
-
Vietnam: Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City
-
Philippines: Manila
-
Singapore
-
Australia: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth
-
New Zealand: Auckland
This expansion gives business travellers access to an even wider international network without the complexity of booking separate tickets.
Cathay Pacific, a well-established airline based in Hong Kong, is a founding member of the oneworld Alliance, to which British Airways also belongs. Travellers can continue to collect Avios and Tier Points on codeshare flights – a valuable benefit for frequent flyers.
From mid-October 2025, British Airways will also resume its daily service between London Heathrow and Abu Dhabi, following a short operational pause.
Looking ahead to Summer 2026
In addition to the enhanced codeshare agreement, British Airways will be expanding its own network in summer 2026, adding more flights to popular long-haul destinations from both London Heathrow and Gatwick.
Here are the highlights of the planned capacity increases:
-
Bangkok: Up to 6 flights per week from Gatwick, year-round
-
Miami: Twice daily from Heathrow
-
Dallas-Fort Worth: Daily service from Heathrow returns
-
Las Vegas, San Diego & Austin: Increased frequencies for greater flexibility
-
New York (JFK): Now exclusively from Heathrow with up to 9 daily flights
-
Middle East: More flights to Bahrain, Jeddah, Riyadh, and Doha
These expansions offer travellers more choice, improved connectivity, and greater availability for their international business journeys.
