From December 17, 2019, travellers to China are required to hand over biometric data (fingerprints and facial scan) at the Service Center of the Consulate of China. This data is linked to the passport that you have submitted at that time and then remains valid for five years. Once your biometric details have been submitted – and as long as they are valid within the aforementioned five-year period – the visa service office can continue to process your visa applications as usual.
